Veganism is not extreme. What’s extreme is the suffering we’ve normalized, the lives taken behind closed doors, the fear, the confinement, the violence inflicted on innocent beings simply because it is profitable, convenient, or familiar. These animals are not objects. They are living, feeling beings who want safety, freedom, comfort, and life just as deeply as we do. They were never meant to exist in cages, on slaughter lines, or in systems built on pain. No living being deserves that.
And the hardest part is this: it is unnecessary….
We do not need to take their lives to nourish ourselves. We can live fully, healthfully, and compassionately on plants. We have a choice now that many generations before us never truly had, the choice to stop participating in suffering when another way exists.
Please, open your heart. Wake up to what they endure, and to the possibility of living more gently in this world. We all need to ‘be vegans’. For them, for us, for the world.
