How very Balkan is this dish…Well minus the animal abuse. Today I had one of my favorite, traditional, home dish, but made plant based. Everything that you can cook on a carnivore diet, you can make on a plant based diet and get all the nutrients your body needs. So then choose plant based…That should be so obvious. I love you.
Here we go:
Ingredients with their approximate protein breakdown:
- 2 Plant Based Sausages ~28 g protein
- 1 cup Red Lentils ~18 g protein (cooked with 2 tbsp Nutritional Yeast ~8 g protein, 2 tbsp Flax Seed ~3 g protein & other spices to taste)
- 1/2 cup Chickpeas (optional) ~7 g protein
- 1 cup Salad Mix with 1 tsp Balsamic ~0.5 g protein
Total protein (approx.)
≈ 64 grams of protein!!!
Notes*
-Traditionally we eat this dish with a piece of bread. Or 3.
Directions:
- SOAK THE LENTILS OVER NIGHT.
- COOK THEM THE NEXT DAY WITH YOUR SPICES. ADD NUTRITIONAL YEAST & FLAX SEED FOR MORE PROTEIN, FIBER, VITAMIN B, OMEGA 3 & ANTIOXIDANTS. THEY ARE ALSO SUPER DELICIOUS.
- FRY THE SAUSAGES IN HOT OIL. (DO NOT USE SEED OIL. IT’S ONE OF THE WORST THINGS FOR YOU!)
- IN A BOWL ADD THE LENTILS, DROP SOME CHICKPEAS ON TOP, ADD THE SAUSAGES, DROP SOME MUSTARD AND HOT SAUCE ON TOP, ADD THE SALAD MIX AND DROP SOME BALSAMIC ON TOP.
- ENJOY.
